Chemigate

Chemigate is a Finnish company that is a specialist in its field and collaborates closely with the paper industry. They have three production units in Finland, where they manufacture a number of modified starches for industrial applications and a range of cationic starch based polymers in liquid form.

Chemigate was formed in 2009, but the company’s history goes back to the 1970s. Then, and especially during the 1980s, the predecessor of Chemigate, Raisio Chemicals, developed a range of starch based products for the rapidly expanding paper and cardboard industry.

The company’s goal was to develop products and methods that are safe to use, support the recycling of material, are based on renewable natural assets and spare the environment. Chemigate guides its customers to make it easier for them to choose the most environment friendly alternative from their product catalogue. They also advise customers on good ways to use, recycle and process the waste generated.
